In the 5 years from 2007 to 2011 FITRA recorded quite significant annual revenue growth, particularly in the last three years (2009-11). In 2007 FITRA’s revenue was only Rp 461.94 million; by 2011 that figure had risen to Rp 8.1 billion, an increase of 2 000%.
This increase in revenue resulted in a rise in net assets (revenue less expenses) of similar proportions, viz. a 16 fold (or 1 600%) increase. In line with its increased revenue, FITRA’s financial position developed very satisfactorily. While total assets were Rp 104.9 million in 2007, by 2011 they had risen to Rp 3.11 billion. This situation came about, of course, because of ever increasing levels of donor confidence in FITRA’s durability and credibility as a civil society organization playing an important role in advocating budget transparency and pro-people budgeting.
